We believe that leadership is not something mystical that only gurus understand. Rather, it is an observable, learnable set of practices. Todays leaders need to be action-oriented visionaries keeping a clear strategic outlook but also responding to constant waves of change.
Programmes developed by Square Peg target the needs of these visionaries by providing opportunities to review best management practices and apply them in real situations. We have found that, given the opportunity for feedback and practice, people who are persistent can significantly improve their leadership abilities. However, nurturing leadership talent should not be an isolated training and development activity but an ongoing business-focused process.
Of course leadership and strategy are two sides of the same coin and both must be supported by the organisations wider people practices. When all three are addressed in parallel their success can be measured in clear business terms.
